From the station

Parques de Sintra says 10 to 15 minutes on foot from the station. Our OpenStreetMap estimate is 21 minutes for 1.6 km, which does not model the slope. Buses 434 and 435 also stop at the palace.

By train from Lisbon

Take the CP train from Rossio, Oriente or Entrecampos. The ride from Rossio is about 40 minutes by a timetable site that we could not check against CP (see cp.pt).

To the other monuments

Regaleira is 0.9 km, about 13 minutes on foot. The Moorish Castle is 1.6 km (21 minutes) and the main entrance of Pena 1.8 km (24 minutes), both uphill, so the 434 bus is the better choice. Monserrate is 3.5 km away.
