Closed on 1 January and on 24, 25 and 31 December. The monuments can also close at short notice for State events, forest-fire risk or extreme weather.

Two last-entry times for the palace
The official page lists 17:00 and 17:30 as the last ticket and last entry for the palace, and does not say which applies in which period. We use the earlier time, 17:00. The ticket office closes from 12:00 to 13:00; the automatic ticket machines remain available.
Roof works
Parques de Sintra announced roof works on the palace until the end of the first quarter of 2027. The palace stays open. Earlier notices also limited access to the lawn on some days and announced works near the café: check the notices page of the official site before you go.
